Maybe you Utah guys have the answer...the link has a picture of what I'm talking about.
What is the reason some chukar have white chins/throat and some have buff...this is usually do to age or sex but I can't find any literature that confirms that. See the link
Shot this bird in a remote area, have shot a couple orange legged & beak chukar which have been extremely larger, but very few. I wondered if maybe a older bird may have these traits???

The best answer I can come up (from David D) with for the different colors is that there is some genetic variation from the original release stock...since there was no concern where the birds originated there is now some variation.
